Broken Bow Lake

Broken Bow Lake is Oklahoma’s best kept secret. This 16,000 acre lake is nestled in between the mountains of the Ouachita National Forest. The water is crystal clear and in some places it is over 200 feet deep. The wildlife is abundant featuring Bald eagles, otters, black bear, and numerous other animals that can be seen in the wild almost every day. Largemouth bass, smallmouth, Hybrid, walleye, crappie, and other species of fish can be caught in the lake.

Fishing

The locals pass around a story about someone catching a very large striper out of Broken Bow Lake. They consider it an urban legend because no one has ever caught a striper of any size out of the lake. That urban legend is hanging on the wall at Boomer’s Bed & Bass. It weighed over 44lb and probably would have been the state record (45lb) if we would have weighed it sooner than we did. There is a picture of the fish in the photo gallery.

Beavers Bend State Park

Beavers Bend State Park is located in the mountainous region of southeast Oklahoma along the shores of Broken Bow Lake and the Mountain Fork River. Guests traveling down the winding roads through the forests of pine and hardwood trees will find adventure, beautiful scenery and plenty of activities inside this state park. The scenic beauty of Beavers Bend & Hochatown State Park makes it one of Oklahoma’s most popular areas.

Cedar Creek Golf Course

Known for its pine-rimmed fairways, Cedar Creek Golf Course in Beavers Bend State Park is one of the most beautiful courses in the state. Nestled in the foothills of the Kiamichi Mountains, the long, narrow course is surrounded by pine forests and the deep-blue waters of Broken Bow Lake. Crystal-clear Cedar Creek runs through the course, providing beauty, wildlife and hazard. The course features 18 holes at par 72, Bermuda grass greens, tees and fairways, a putting green, driving range, pro shop with cart and club rentals, snacks and drinks.
